Helping young people feel confident about their changing bodies

Interactive period positivity workshops for preteens aged 8–12 and their parents or carers. Learn about puberty, periods and body changes in a relaxed, supportive environment where questions are encouraged and no topic feels awkward.

What do you remember about your first period?

Was it exciting because you knew what was happening?
Or was it something you were embarrassed to talk about, worried you'd get caught out, or simply expected to put up with?

For many of us, periods came with awkwardness, shame or a lot of “I wish someone had told me that.”

These workshops are about doing things differently for the next generation.

I want young girls and boys to approach puberty with knowledge, curiosity and confidence rather than fear or embarrassment. And I want their parents and carers to feel equipped to have those conversations too.

Together, we'll explore puberty, periods, body changes and period products in a fun, relaxed and genuinely positive environment, giving young people the knowledge they need to feel prepared, empowered and excited about growing up.

What we’ll explore together

01

YOUR BODY, PROPERLY EXPLAINED

Explore the amazing anatomy behind puberty and periods through interactive activities, learning the correct terminology while discovering how the different parts of the reproductive system work together.

02

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS DURING PUBERTY?

Take the mystery out of puberty. We’ll explore the hormonal changes behind it, what happens in the body and the changes your preteen can expect as they grow.

03

GETTING READY FOR THEIR FIRST PERIOD

Learn what a period actually is, what those first signs might look like and what to expect when it arrives. We’ll also explore what’s normal, because periods definitely don’t come in one standard format.

04

PERIOD PRODUCTS: THE SHOW & TELL

Pads, period pants, cups and more! We’ll get them out, talk about how they work and explore the different options available. This hands-on show-and-tell is always a favourite, giving preteens the chance to see and ask questions about products before they ever need to use them.

05

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE STUFF WE DON’T USUALLY TALK ABOUT

From cervical mucus to period blood, we’ll explore the changes that happen throughout the cycle through practical demonstrations and activities, helping preteens understand what they might notice in their own bodies.

06

HORMONES, MOODS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

Explore how hormones can influence mood, emotions, energy and how we feel throughout the cycle, with activities designed to make those changes easier to understand.

And it’s not just sitting and listening...

Expect games, challenges, demonstrations, discussion and plenty of opportunities to get involved. The workshop is designed to be fun, memorable and genuinely hands-on, so the learning doesn’t stop when they walk out of the room.

Parents and carers, you might learn something too

You don’t need to have all the answers. The workshop gives you the opportunity to learn alongside your preteen, discover things you may never have been taught yourself and leave with more confidence to continue those conversations at home.
